Beach blvd

This Beach Blvd home went from a rough construction site—dirt, gravel, and unfinished access—to a fully finished modern exterior. RockALevel redesigned the entire approach to the house with a black brushed concrete driveway, custom steppers, a new courtyard deck, and layered landscaping that finally matches the architecture of the home.

From Raw Front Yard to Finished Modern Curb Appeal

Before we started, the front elevation had potential but no presence: a bare, uneven front yard, no defined walkway, and a simple parking area that felt temporary. Our goal was to create an exterior that felt intentional from the street right up to the front door. We rethought the layout of the entire front zone—how cars pull in, how people walk to the entry, how the landscaping frames the house—and built a design that ties the original home and the modern addition together. The finished result feels like a single, cohesive property instead of a work in progress: clean lines, strong contrast, and a front yard that finally looks as custom as the home itself.

Black Brushed Concrete Driveway, Steppers & White Stone Borders

The centerpiece of this transformation is the large black brushed concrete driveway. The darker tone gives the home a bold, modern base while the brushed finish adds grip and subtle texture you can see even in low light. It creates a wide, practical parking area that still looks refined from the street. From the sidewalk to the front door and into the side yard, we installed oversized concrete steppers set into crisp white pebblestone. The contrast between the black concrete and white stone creates a clean, graphic look while also helping with drainage and reducing maintenance. New planting beds along the drive soften the edges with greenery so the hardscape doesn’t feel harsh—everything feels structured but still warm and livable.

Courtyard Deck, Floating Concrete Step & Indoor Green Walkway

At the heart of the project is the small courtyard between the house and addition, which used to be nothing more than bare soil and debris. We turned it into a usable outdoor room with a low-maintenance composite deck that’s perfect for coffee, relaxing, or sliding the doors open and blending inside with outside. Around the back edge of the deck, we formed a floating concrete step that wraps the doorway, creating a clean transition from deck to entry. Integrated lighting under the step highlights the texture of the concrete and adds a soft glow at night. From the courtyard into the interior, more black concrete steppers carry the design language right through the doors, surrounded by lush planting that gives the entrance a calm, almost indoor-garden feel. Together, the driveway, steppers, deck, floating step, and landscaping turn this Beach Blvd property into a complete front and courtyard remodel—modern, cohesive, and ready to live in, not just pass by.
